The worship of God is central to the life of Glade Spring Baptist Church. Our primary worship service is on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. This service is a traditional service that offers both traditional and contemporary music styles, choir and congregational singing, as well as a traditional, biblically-based sermon. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated during the first Sunday of each month during this service and is open to anyone who professes faith in Christ.
We also have an evening worship service at 7:00 p.m. on Sundays that we call ‘Talk Back.’ During this casual service, we take a more in-depth look at the morning’s sermon topic and the service is designed to encourage an open discussion of that topic by all that are in attendance.
Our Wednesday evening service is held at 7:00 p.m. and offers a traditional Bible study. The study will often be a structured study of a particular book in the Bible, interspersed with studies of specific topics that relate to our everyday lives.
*All services are approximately one hour in length.
Music is also central to our worship of God. Through music and song, we offer our praises and thanksgiving to God during our worship services. Our music program is directed by an experienced Music Director, aided by an experienced pianist and occasional visiting musicians. Periodically, we offer special music programs at such times as Easter and Christmas. Choir membership is open to all that have an interest in music and singing. Our church offers support to various music recitals and special music events.
Education is central to our mission at Glade Spring Baptist Church. The hallmark of our education ministry is our Sunday School ministry which is centered around age-specific classes for all ages, from pre-school through senior adult. All classes are taught by experienced and caring teachers.
Children are of immense importance to our church and we offer various age-appropriate opportunities for their nurture and Christian education in a safe and loving environment.
Nursery: provided for infants to pre-school. Pagers are available to parents.
Children’s Church: Ages 3 through fourth grade. These children remain in the sanctuary through the first half of the adult worship time, in order to become acquainted with our worship practices, then depart to worship in a separate part of the building. The Children’s church offers an age-appropriate time of worship, singing, and activities to enhance the child’s understanding of faith in God.
